about be clear, we are not referring about any old sports shoes nowadays. From simple sundresses to more formal gowns, there are many shoe designs to choose from depending on your own tastes and dress style. So let's start right now!
Best White Sneakers to Wear With Dresses
As previously said, there are countless variations of white shoes available; this is hardly an exhaustive list. However, when paired with a dress, I wanted to highlight the few designs that I personally own, wear, and adore. Sure, you could go with a more colorful color, but white goes with everything. As always, I'll keep this list moderately priced.
To put it differently, Common Projects shoes are not on the list; your daughter cannot afford $400 sneakers! So for now, here are my favorite white shoes to wear with a dress. Clicking on the outfit photos of any style I mention will take you to the original blog post, incidentally. You all know how much I enjoy looking back through the Poor Little It Girl archives!
1. Double-T Howell Court Sneakers, Tory Burch
About $200 for these Tory Burch sneakers is a great middle ground pricing range. Besides a range of heel colors, there is an all-white variation. The shoes include a detachable footbed and the iconic Tory Burch emblem on the side. If you dislike logos, these are most likely not the best choice available to you. Conversely, Tory Burch products are quite popular and almost all of them include the identifiable logo that has evolved as a brand characteristic.
2. Keds Sneakers
Of course, my love letter to white shoes had to begin with Keds. Is there a more classic sneaker? I don't think so. I wear them as an adult, and I wore them as a child. Actually, these are the basic adaptable shoe that has been around for decades. Even though these are lace-up sneakers, you can easily put your foot into them like a slip-on sneaker, which is really convenient. These are also lightweight and comfortable.
Although Keds come in a variety of fabrics, I like the canvas top type. My summer outfits and laid-back mom-style look best in canvas/cotton. They are also fully machine washable, even with a rubber outsole! When they get a little filthy, I just throw them in the washer; they come out brand new!

3. Leather Sneakers
When I want to spruce up my sundress, I pull out my white leather sneakers. Aside from wearing them with my little black dress in today's blog post outfit, I also paired them with lace and a floral-tiered midi dress for a whimsical springtime look. I usually save these shoes for dressier occasions; the leather is a more elevated fabric.
These M.Gemi white shoes have a flexible leather upper with a lightweight rubber sole. Yes, I recognize the pricing is on the higher side, but these bad boys have been with me for a few years and still look and feel brand new. Alternatively, you could follow Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's lead and purchase some reasonably priced, elegant leather Veja V-10 sneakers. They are also made of recycled materials, so you can feel good about helping the environment! Here are some options to consider if you're looking for a pair of leather white sneakers!
4. Club C 85 Classic Lace-up Sneakers Reebok
Though they are not my favorites, these are really popular right now and so I added them. Laughing Out Loud Though I have seen them worn with dresses a lot, these clearly lie between a casual and sporty sneaker and I wanted to add them to my collection because they are among the best white sneakers to wear with dresses. They are also a quite cozy sneaker, which is obviously great if you intend to walk a lot or spend a lot of time on your feet. Although this is a vintage sneaker, it looks more modern than it did years ago. You could absolutely wear them with dresses, but choose a basic t-shirt style dress instead of something unduly feminine. For a business-casual style, they would also look excellent with wide-leg pants.

5. Converse Sneakers
I'm not sure when I bought my first Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers. Still, it's been a fascination since the first day. Who else appreciates the famous sneaker design? I'm pretty sure my parents wore Converse sneakers back then; that's how long this street style has been around. Converse are the hippest of all best white sneakers for women, and I believe they look great on everyone, whether they are wearing jeans or a dress. High and low tops.
So, how might one pair an iconic Converse sneaker with a dress? Obviously, from the photos below, I enjoy them with denim jackets, lol! I will admit, however, that I become hooked on having everything clean and organized. Their sparkling white makes them particularly alluring. And I realize that with the Golden Goose trend, that isn't a popular opinion, but I've always been the one to avoid incredibly trendy yet filthy sneakers.
6. Adidas Superstar Sneakers
You simply feel groovy wearing Adidas Superstar sneakers. I've had a few distinct looks, including all-white and three-gold-striped. By far my favorite Adidas styles are the Superstar and Stan Smith. They are always in vogue for both men and women, and despite their retro appearance, they have a very modern appeal.
These are some of the most comfortable lace-up sneakers available. And I can wear them all day without worrying about blisters or aching feet. Again, everyone has different feet, but in my opinion, a Superstar sneaker deserves an A+. You would thus be absolutely mistaken, even if you assume that this style of white sneaker is too casual for a dress! I believe they look best in simple, somewhat fitted T-shirt outfits. Based on my own experience styling my Superstar in dresses, as illustrated here.
7. Samba OG Shoes from Adidas
Although everyone and their mother seem to wear Adidas Samba sneakers, this fad is far from finished. Since their low-profile design does not detract attention from the clothes you are wearing, Samba shoes are a common choice for celebrity street style. Instead, they read as a sporty-chic accent that fits especially for the minimalist designs of today. Reputed as one of the most fashionable white Adidas sneakers of all time, the Samba shoe is a great fit for fancy events and is expected to be among the best sneakers to wear with dresses even into the fall.
8. Beth Sneakers and Isabel Marant
For years, I have been fixated on these sneakers and find great beauty in their general construction. Coming in slightly under $500, they are rather pricey. Over the years, I have purchased a few Isabel Marant pieces; although her style is more modern—with a chic French boho air—they all seem current today. I find the velcro straps' zigzag border to be really intriguing, and I enjoy the subdued color splash on the back.
9. Sam Edelman Ethyl Low Top Sneakers
Sam Edelman's are the perfect less costly leather shoe option! Though they cost $80, they look really fancy. They are simple and classic; they lack any extra color accent. I usually suggest these as a substitute should any of my white sneakers run out since I find them to be really elegant. Timeless and simple for dressing up with dresses, or team with shorts and a tank for a more laid-back vibe.
10. Esplar Sneakers
Veja makes my most worn-out white sneakers, hence I have a little bias towards these. Sadly, the exact pair I have lost, but I love the plain white shoes of the company overall. The sole is low and the sneaker fits somewhat sloppily, which makes them quite beautiful to wear. With a range of dresses from highly feminine and flirty to a basic t-shirt dress, Veja sneakers are among the best white sneakers to wear with dresses.. There are all-white variations, but you could also choose multiple hues for the side "v" insignia. These Vejas feature more stitching and a side logo than the Common Project and Sam Edelman sneakers, but they are still somewhat understated in comparison. And from among the lot, their appearance on my feet makes them my favorite.
